Photography has the intrinsic power to transform ordinary subjects into extraordinary compositions by focusing on shapes, textures, colors, and patterns rather than literal representations.
When applied to flora for instance, photography offers a unique way to showcase the natural world in ways that defy traditional perspectives. Relying on techniques such as macro photography, motion blur, out of focus bouquet, double exposures and creative lighting, we can create mesmerizing images that highlight the beauty and complexity of our subjects in renewed and unconventional ways.
Taking an alternate path to literal representation, my images emphasize forms, colors, and textures, evoking emotions or provoking curiosity and thought, rather than simply documenting reality, taking one step further into revealing intricate details that might otherwise go unnoticed, such as delicate veins, iridescence, transparencies, or swirling patterns.
Flora subjects are not just visually striking but also emotionally engaging, by presenting the natural world in a new light, inviting viewers to see familiar subjects in unfamiliar ways.
Wonder, curiosity and the appreciation of natural beauty, can also be used to draw your attention to the fragility of ecosystems, the beauty of biodiversity and the interconnectedness of life.
